This is purely decorative item, as it doesn’t do anything for preventing bread from going stale. The box is full of holes, and there is no difference between letting bread sit outside or inside this box.
I wanted a bread box like this for a long time. I’ve looked
in the stores and did not find one that I liked. I thought this was
it. I can’t express enough how unhappy I was with this piece junk.
It was rusted and bent and very thin (like aluminum foil). I sent it
back right away. Guess I’ll keep looking!!!
After researching bread boxes, I finally decided to get this one. The product itself did not disappoint. I am quite happy with it. However, I am quite upset with both the manufacturer and Amazon. When it arrived it was in another box with another product. The bread box container was beat, torn and looked like someone else opened it, and then returned the box. Why? Because there is a small dent in the ridge on the top. My bread box was due to arrive a month after I received it, having gotten two e-mails telling me when to expect arrival. It costs too much to send it back, and the ding doesn’t hamper the operation of the bread box. I am just so disappointed in Amazon for sending me something that someone had returned as a defective product. That leaves a bitter taste in my mouth for Amazon and ordering from them again in the future.
The product is good. It has a large interior and the door works smoothly. This bread box is very modestly priced compared to many others. Not sure what makes these things so damn expensive, but I needed a bread box at a reasonable price. I’m happy with it, but then agian if you’re the type to get overly jazzed about a bread box then I have a therapist you might want to chat with.
This box does not keep bread any fresher than when it’s simply left out on counter in it’s original wrapper. Sorry I bought it, but am using as a little “closet.”
